Will be coming into Paris at Gare DeLyon station and need to get to Gare St. Lazare. Have 2 questions: 1)What is easiest way to get to Gare St. Lazare station from Gare DeLyon? 2)
Any suggestions for cheap, clean and comfortable hotel for one night near Gare St.Lazare?
Metro 14 is a no-changer that takes about twenty minutes.
I'm not sure what your definition of "cheap" is, but the Hotel Chopin (http://www.hotelchopin.fr/) is within (longish) walking distance of St Lazare and quite nice.
Grand Hotel de Normandie is virtually out the station door. "Cheap"? Depends on what is going on in town. Their website says double room from 99 euro, but a random day in March shows it's 161 and that is the prepaid special.
Hotel Saint Petersbourg on Rue Caumartin may work for you but you might get better suggestions if you give a price range. Also, depending on how close you need to be, you can go to http://www.subwayhotels.com/Paris/ and click on the Saint Lazare metro station and see the hotels listed there. You can sort by distance from the station, price, etc.
Thanks for all suggestions. Hope to find clean, convenient hotel in safe neighborhood close to train--I'm hoping to find something $150 or preferably less. The 99 euros sounds great but too good to be true. Will definitely check out all suggestions. First trip to Paris so your suggestions are greatly appreciated.
