Paris accommodation : Ile St-Louis ?

Do you know any hotels or apartments on Ile St-Louis that rents for less than 120 euros per night/2 people (4 nights in September)? or something close...we're on a budget.

...actually, any suggestions/recommendations for accommodation on Ile St-Louis would be appreciated.

Thank You! :)

P.S. accommodation on Ile St-Louis: Do the bells from Notre Dame keep one awake at night?

I don't mean to be a downer, but Ile Saint-Louis is one of the most trendy and expensive areas of Paris. Even so, I managed to find a couple of places there, but they are €155 and €195.

I like the website http://en.parisinfo.com to look up Paris hostels as they often have great rates. Sadly, they do not offer anything right on the Ile Saint-Louis, but take a look to see if something is close enough for you.

We stayed about 1500 feet from Notre Dame last summer and I don't remember being disturbed by the bells. (This makes me think of Quasimodo!)

Hi Violet,

These 2 hotels on Ile St. Louis are in Rick Steves' Paris book. I've stayed at both (before they became really expensive) and like each one!

*Hotel des Deux Iles--my favorite--the rooms are pretty but small and I love the room where they serve breakfast!

*Hotel de Lutece

We recently rented a small apartment on Ile St. Louis from VRBO (Vacation Rental by Owner.) It's VRBO #94988.

The Marais is another neighborhood that you might want to check out--less expensive than Ile St. Louis.

Hi Violet, Ile Saint Louis is our absolute favorite neighborhood in Paris. We stayed at the Hotel de Lutece last August and loved it. It was about $225 and worth every penny to us. I know their sister hotel, Hotel des Deux Iles is less expensive and very nice. Because of the lousy economy they may have come down in price, it's worth checking on (I would email them). Next May we have booked an apartment on Ile Saint Louis, as the previous poster suggested. It's much less expensive. We used ParisAttitude.com (apt #3635). They have some good ones to choose from on Ile Saint Louis. I'm a very light sleeper and the bells of Notre Dame did not bother me, in fact, they were wonderful!

The Hotel Castex is technically in the Marais-Bastille area, but in point of fact is about a 3 minute walk from the Isle SL...we have stayed there many times, and in fact usually walk through the ISL on our way to Notre Dame, Place S Michel, etc. I don't know what the current rates are--you could easily check their website...but it is a delightful place (listed in RS books).
