Paris accommodation for 4 for 5 nights

We would like to stay in the old medieval part of Paris for 5 nights and have two girls aged 10 & 12. We are travelling on a budget and would like suggestions to small hotels or apartment rentals in this area. Any help or suggestions or links are greatly appreciated!! July travel. Thanks!!

Tania, look at the Parisbestlodge Apartments, I am staying on one this July too,, my first time in an apartment, but I know the area I am staying in very well and love it. I am staying in the Esmeralda,, there are 3 other units in the same building. Bonus( and not usual) they all have a/c,, nice for july in Paris. I especially liked not having to pay everything up front, and my deposit check is post dated to stay date, also appricieate that. I can also recommend the Hotel Eugenie, have stayed there twice. Perfect area for you,, rooms clean and have a/c,, many cafes etc nearby, less then 5 minutes to Notre Dame, and ATM close by, St Michels Fountain 50 yrds from hotel. I prefer the shower only rooms, but don't know if they offer them in triples( you will need to book a triple room as in France occupancy laws are very strict) . You could also look at Hotel Du College du France,, I haven't stayed there but know of people who have and they recommend,, not sure if it has a/c. Read reviews on tripadvisor.com.

Please take a look at the St. Andre des Arts apartment shown on Iloveparisapartments.com
The building is from the 1700s, and the apt is very nice. Very close to the St. Michel fountain plaza on the Left Bank.

Check out any thru Vacation in Paris. I've used them several times and been very happy. I much enjoy apartments over hotels since you have more room to "spread out" rather than just sit on the bed when you're "home." It's wonderful you're introducing your girls to another culture.

Tania, rent an apartment! We usually use VRBO.com and Homelidays.com to find one that suits our needs. Make sure that you use Google Street View to go up and down the streets near your apt, to ensure that you are not next to a noisy restaurant or bad section of town. Know exactly what floor you are on, and if there is an available elevator.

Vacation in Paris ( mentioned above) has apartments all over Paris and they rent by the night, no one-week minimum. The company is reputable and very easy to deal with. We stayed in a one-bedroom/two bath with our daughters a few years back and were very happy with the choice.

Thanks you so much everyone!! I have added all your apartment suggestion links to my Fav's. I believe that that is definitley going to be the choice for us in Paris!! If anyone has any arrondissements that they would recommend for a family, we would love to stay in the medieval part but if is outside our budget, any other suggestions would be great! We don't mind walking in to the city center, that would be wonderful. Thanks again!!

4th( Marais) 5th( Latin Quarter) and 6th( st Germain) are great areas,, within these areas are many sites you can walk to( some sites like the Louvre are in the 1st, but thats only a walk across the river from the 5th or 6th),, and if possible situate yourself closer to river rather then farther as many sites are close to it. You will still need to bus or metro to some sites , Sacre Couer is not in center for example, but within those three arrondissemonts( neighborhoods) you will find much to keep you busy .
The Tuilleries gardens has a ferris wheel set up in summer, kids may enjoy that,, its goes quite high so good for adults who just want a view or two.
