We are looking for a place to stay in Paris for 4 nights at the end of our trip. we will have stayed in a major hotel chain at the beginning of our trip. Can anyone suggest a smaller, independent hotel we might enjoy for our last days in Paris?

Any in the cluster of small ones along Victor Cousine/de la Sorbonne (street name changes right along there somewhere) on the west side of the universtiy.
Or any in the clumps and scattered spots between the universities and the botanical gardens.

Hotel Nepoleon. Fam owned since 1924 Great hotel, great location half a block from Champs and Arc. Review their web site for specifics.

You might have a look at the websites for the Grand Hotel Leveque, Hotel Duquesne Eiffel or Hotel Muguet to see if any of those appeal to you.
The Paris or France Guidebooks also have lots of listings for good Hotels in different price ranges and in different parts of the city.
