We are going to Paris in September and I have 3 questions. 1. I read the recent post about Paris taxis. What is the approximate cost for a taxi from CDG to Musee d'Orsay. I am going to check on Victors cab. We arrive about 3 pm..will it be over an hour to get to our apt? 2. After Paris, we are going to Normandy. Our thoughts are to rent a car, drive to Normandy stay for a couple of days and then to Mont st. Michel. We would return the car to Orly airport. My question is where should we pick up a rental car to avoid city traffic? We are staying near the Musee D'Orsay.
3. We are driving to Normandy on a Sunday. On the way, is it doable to stop in Giverny?
#1 - I have no idea #2 - How many people are going? If it's just two of you - taking the train to Normandy (Bayeux or Caen) and then picking up the rental would be the easiest way to avoid driving in Paris. #3 - Definitely. You could also do it in reverse if you pick up the rental car somewhere in Normandy.
For an answer to your first question, use the Paris forum of Trip Advisor. There are several locals there who will have a good idea of travel times (rush hour, etc) and fares.
