We're planning a trip to France for next April or May. We'll be in Paris for about a week (few days other places). My husband and I are traveling with 3 older children (20-G, 18-B, 12-B), and my adult brother. So, there are 6 of us total, but we need at least 4 beds (at least one BR with 2 twin beds for the oldest adult kids), and we want no one sleeping in the Living Room, so that leaves me with 3 BR's (I'll probably put the 12 yr. old on the floor in our room). We've decided to attempt to stay ON the RS's sleeping/eating maps of Rue Cler or Marais. Because of the kids, we want to be in a safe area, and be close to RS's suggested eating places-thus "ON" the maps. Since the Parisians eat late, if the 12 yr. old is tired one any of us could take him home and we'd be close by- he has asthma and we're trying to limit extra walking when we can. I've stayed in Rue Cler area and feel it's a safe area, maybe even for my 2 oldest to walk around in alone. I don't know much about the Marais (safe for teens?). Our budget is about $2500-$3500 USD/week (have even looked up to $4000...I thought apartments would be cheaper than hotel rooms-No). We've been searching for over a week and haven't found many choices...actually nothing perfect yet...help! Thanks!
Hi Nancy,
Below is a link to copy and paste into the address box... This is a company based in the United States... note that you may receive the apartment key before you leave home... Here's the link:...

bon voyage!.... P.
Try Parisbestlodge.com-- we found them very good and we would be gretaly surpised if you cannot find loodging well within your rather extravagant budget!
We used www.VRBO.com and found a great 3 bedroom apartment in the Rue Cler area for much less than your budget.
Hi Nancy--We have also used Vacation in Paris and were so happy with their service. They have three bedroom apartments that are within your price range. Here is one: http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_118.htm
One of Rick's recomended hotels in Amboise has this apartment for rent in paris. The price seems very reasonable. And it seems lovely. Its a bit smaller than you want but I thought there may be others looking too and this is too good not to share.

Thanks all...Elizabeth's suggestion was the only one that might work for us, but I appreciate all the links. Wish there were more to choose from for larger groups...I wonder what others do? I've written them down and counted and I've now visited over 100 websites looking for this. Oh well. I do hope cooking some meals offsets the big expense though as 3 hotel rooms would be less! I wonder if any of the less expensive hotels have suites with several BR's?
Not to debase this thread, I was seriously considering looking for an apartment to rent in Paris for vacation. The pictures on the websites looked wonderful. Until, my husband "kindly" reminded me of the little critters that photographs sometimes do not pick up. Of course, his seemly innocent statement brought the neurotic out of me. For those who have rented an apartment, were the linens clean, the rugs stainfree, the utensils spotless, the beds not lumpy, any signs of mice, roaches, etc...? Quite frankly, renting an apartment seems to be a bargain for a family of 6, as long as the little crawling things don't use my suitcase or me as transportation. (Don't remind me of airplanes. I still haven't recovered from reading the "Face mask" thread yet!) Any positive answers would be most appreciative!
The apartment we rented in Paris was spotless. The sheets were in the washer in the apartment when we first arrived and dropped off our luggage (previous people had checked out late and the housekeeper was still working on the place) so we knew they were clean and fresh, and when we got back, the place was immaculate and the towels were still in the dryer, so we knew those were fresh, too. The apartment had a dishwasher, and all the dishes were clean and put away when we arrived. We never saw any evidence of any kinds of critters, but I don't suppose my one experience can be applied to every circumstance. I'm sure some people will have horror stories, but we had no complaints whatsoever with our place. I don't think I'd rent without getting some personal recommendations first since, as you say, pictures can be deceiving.
Try playing around on Paris Attitude. The agency is based in Paris. They have numerous apartments that fit almost everyone's preferences.
Is this one close to meeting your needs?
I have stayed in one of their apartments in the 15e. It was beautiful and clean. The neighborhood and owner were very nice.
I've only been to the Marais once, and that was during the day with a Parisian, but I felt it was safe. Enjoy the fallafel!
Nancy,
I've used ParisPerfect twice and found the apartments to be spotless and as advertised. This summer 4 of us had plenty of room in our rue St. Dominque pad. They are a bit pricey but you deal with English speakers and they are very helpful. I'm going alone at Christmas and will be using vrbo which has been mentioned a lot on these boards and staying in the Marais. Keep one thing in mind European digs are MUCH smaller than we are used to. Things are compact and I think they make better use of space than we do.
