airline ,, see if she can pay for a name change on ticket! DL does not matter. She has to have passport and airline ticket the same!

also. we live in a city with a passport office, if you have that can you run down( in person) and see if they can do an expediated passport .. it will cost also.Tellher to take tickets for plane with her, here you have to show a need for an expediated change by proving travel dates.

Mary, she should make an appointment at the neatest passport office (Seattle)? ASAP to get this sorted out. I believe she needs a new passport. If you are traveling soon they will generally accommodate you but she needs to research this tonight and start on it first thing tomorrow morning.

ActuallybPat has a good idea. See if the airline will change the name on the ticket. Make sure they understand it is the same person and the circumstances. They may want to charge but maybe it is faster and easier khan a new passport.

bless you all! looks like there is a passport office in Littleton, CO (where the silly girl lives) and there may be a way to get a new one in time. however, they are also checking with BA to see if they can change the name on her ticket. i thought you could stop holding hands with your kids once they got a little older.... you all are great!

There are agencies that will expedite a passport for a fairly hefty fee and fed ex it to you. I know someone who did this in the past but don't remember how they found the agency (I think it involved walking it through in Washington). It might be worth checking this out if none of the above answers work.

My brother got a new passport in 24 hours when he lost his old one - he called the passport office in Minneapolis where he lives, made an appointment for around 10 am, and picked up the new passport that afternoon. And left about 6 the next morning on his trip... so your daughter is much more organized than he was! In her shoes I'd call the passport office in Littleton and see what they can do for her. Good luck to you both-

There is NO passport office in Littleton. Too small. What you probably see is a post office substation that will accept passports. Trust me I live here. Everything has to match down to the middle initial. The airlines will have to change it she doesn't have time for the passport.

my bad...the passport agency in CO is in Aurora...hopefully that is near Denver :) we are going for a two-pronged attack....airline first with maiden name .... and making an appointment (automated service available 24 hours, 7 days a week) at the Aurora office in case the airline won't take care of her.

Yes, Aurora is just a short distance from Littleton. She should call the passport office and make an appointment. The office is located about 3 blocks from my house. If she needs directions, PM me and I'll email them to you.

It needs to match exactly. Last week my neighbor's relatives came to visit. Their child's passport and plane ticket were one letter off on the first name. They weren't allowed to check-in at Seattle airport. They went to the passport office in Seattle and got a new one issued and were able to board the plane the next day. Of course after paying a huge airline change fee and stressing immensely. It was completely their fault for not checking their passports closely enough when they received them months earlier.
