We were thinking about going to Tangiers on a tour late in the morning, then leave the tour as they leave tangiers, and stay one night by ourselves without a tour, after we have a little general tour group orientation. We would leave the next day mid-day and then head on to Malaga. I thought we could stay in Tangiers instead of a night in Tarifa, this way and see a different side.
Any comments, ideas, cautions or hints? Will it be difficult coming back alone?

I have only had one occasion to visit Tangiers and I was very glad I did; however, I am not sure if I would ever go back for a visit. Foreigners are too easily identified and they are mercilessly targeted by those seeking to sell items. Being outside a tour group will certainly offer you a better view of the people and a more candid view of the culture. Today, if it were me, I would visit for the day and return to Spain for the night. The sooner I can get to Malaga the better; it is just a more enjoyable place to be.
