IN the guidebooks you always refer to starting in Chamonix and going to Italy...is it not possible or wise to go from Aosta (Italy) to Chamonix? We are looking at taking the train from Milan to Aosta, over Mt BLanc, night in Chamonix and on to Geneva.
Any concerns, suggestions?

Beware, in case you are travelling soon, that part of the lift ride is closed due to unusual harsh snow accumulation that rendered it unsafe.
