My husband and I will be in paris for 3 days in May. Is the L'Open top bust tour recommended. I have read that it can be anoying at tiimes because they stop at all stops for a long time selling tickets. Is there any other bus/walking tour that is recommended.
Thanks
Hi Holly. Check the Rick Steves France or Paris books - he has many details including a public bus line that he recommends.
Hi Holly, I have never taken the bus you are asking about, so I can't offer an opinion about it. I just wanted to mention, in case you are unaware, that a group of us from the helpline meet monthly in Sacramento. We are passionate about travel, especially European travel. If you have questions we can be a good source of information for you. Our next meeting is on Saturday (3/19). We always meet on the 3rd Saturday of the month and a reminder is posted under the General Europe heading each month. If you would like any further information feel free to send me a private message. I hope you enjoy Paris...my very favorite city!!
Thanks Guys.
There are walking tours and bike tours in Paris that will offer you a much better experience than riding a ho-ho bus around the city. They will probably cost less too, plus you will have a guide that can answer questions, and orient you to the city.
There is a newish such tour bus service I have heard about that does not stop, but makes a non-stop narrated circuit of the top 50 sights of Paris in about an hour and a half. It is called Foxity http://foxity.com/ and seems to cost less than the competition. We are going to try it in May, as we will be with another couple that has never been to Paris, and I thought it would be a good way to give them a pretty comprehensive orientation.
