Hi!
I have a four-hour layover in Amsterdam from New York on the way to Berlin. We land in Amsterdam at 6am. Realistically, we have about 2 and a half hrs to spend in the city. Maybe breakfast in a cool cafe with a good view? Any tips on best way to get to the city center from Schiphol and back and a good spot to spend those 2 hrs?
I greatly appreciate it!
Vanessa
yep, I guess we can try to find an earlier connection so we can enjoy our destination longer :)
Been there and don't think you really have time, but I am personally amazed at Schiphol's world inside the international terminal. You can sleep at a hotel, have your pictures printed, shop at truly good prices (typical of all the tourist places I shopped) and find every kind of food from McD's to nice food. I think it is the best international airport I've been through.
Thank so much Linda, that's very helpful. Two hours would not satisfy my craving to revisit that city and not worth the risks as these postings mention. Thanks everyone.
Good point. I guess I'll find out when I get there if this whole thing is even possible.
Thanks for bringing it up.

The Rijksmuseum also has a small branch at Schiphol, opens at 7 am....a great chance to get a look at some Dutch masterpieces. There's also a shop there to purchase posters, books, etc.
