I want to go to Germany for a weekend, that would mean leaving Rouen on a Friday morning and coming back on a Sunday night. What should I visit in Germany is such a short amount of time? Are the any cities or sights that I should try do visit in this one weekend?

I would first check where easy train connections occur.Then train to that location.Munich for a couple of days would be good.

Kaitlyn, what are you interested in? There are so many sights, villages, towns and cities worth visiting in Germany, you really have to make a choice. Is it castles and medival towns you're looking for? Is it shopping and world-class nightlife? Is it the Bavarian beerfest charme you're into or is it stunning nature? Cologne is probably the closest from Rouen with there being a Thalys link with 1 connection taking just under 6 hours one-way. From cologne the Rhine river gorge with its multitude of medival castles and the scenic Mosel river valley seem to be best suitable... plus maybe half a day shopping and nightlife in Cologne, one of the party capitals of Germany...
