We are headed to Vienna for one week. My husband will be in a class most of the time. I am wondering what things I should not miss while there, and what things I should save to see WITH my husband on Saturday and Sunday when he is off.
What about the opera? Any tips?

The Shoenbrunn Palace is very nice. The Kunhistoriches Museum is great. We regret missing the Belvedere Palace.
Don't miss the Spanish Riding School and the Lipizzaner Stallions. Go watch a them practice. Even if the horses are on vacation (which may occur in July) they still have a wonderful program. Try for the first tier of seating, but the second level on a corner is also good. The Albertina is also great! Skip any of the nightly dinner and concert offerings. Just go to a concert.
