One very "full" day in Paris...

Spending 9 days in Barcelona over Spring Break and couldn't resist flying to Paris for one day. We arrive at ORY at 7:00 am and our flight leaves at 10:00 PM. What would you revisit? We have been to Paris a few times in the past.

Since you have been several times, I think only you would know what you would like to revisit. Maybe you can think of some places that you never made it to on your previous trips that you have been wanting to see.

Good question. It's like asking, "if I had one day to live" what would I do. For me, I would head directly to Le Musee D'Orsay(in the 7th), to the fifth floor and gaze at all the wonderful impressionist paintings including Van Gogh ( always bring tears to my eyes). I'd step outside on the clock tower deck and overlook the Seine. I might spend a few minutes in their wonderful museum store before I'd cross the river and walk along the park. I'd go to rue de Rivoli and catch the metro to Le Louvre - but of course, I would skip the Mona Lisa and go directly to the French painters of the 18th century. After exactly an hour, I would leave and have a wine and cheese tasting at O Chateau. That would leave me enough time to go to Le Bon Marche and spend about another hour in their Grande Epicerie where I would stock up on all the finer things of culinary life. There is a bar directly behind Le Bon Marche, where for 8 euros, you can enjoy a very generous glass of champagne. Its not fancy, but it's authentic. Lunch? That's a tough one - with such a tough schedule, and 2 hours being the min., I might opt for a baguette sandwich and keep going. Enjoy! Duabe

It's been established on a different thread that the upper floors of the Orsay Museum are closed for renovation. Most of the Impressionist paintings are on loan. A few have been placed on lower floors.
