one night Paris stay

We would like to stay in Rue Cler area for one night to rest up before heading north to Normandy. Any thoughts on a good 3/4 star hotel for 3 adults (a finicky husband) which will not take us to the bank?

"Finicky" is a key word here. Paris is pricey espec for those that want "american style comforts so best up your choices to a Novotel, Sofitel Hotel (French Chain)that you can book online unfortunately this chain does not have hotels in Rue Cler.

Yeah, Rue Cler will be out of the question. If you're looking for American-like hotels there are Holiday Inns, the Concorde Montparnasse is good. Hopefully your husband won't be so finicky. )

If you aren't wedded to Rue Cler - pricey, and now quite touristy, a mon avis - why not try l'Hotel Hameau? It's in the Passy neighborhood, right smack dab between two Metro stops, and it is wonderful. It's two stars, and it is a European-style hotel, but it is comfy, reasonably priced, extremely clean, and quiet. Located on a courtyard (pictured here http://www.paris-hotel-hameaudepassy.com/english-France-Hotel-Hameau-de-Passy/Hotel01-Hotel-Hameau-de-Passy.htm) there is no street noise at all. What is your husband finicky about? If he's finicky about cleanliness, he will be very happy with l'Hotel Hameau. If by "finicky" you mean he wants all the comforts of home, no surprises, a very "American" bland experience, then.... uh.... why are you going to Europe?
