one night in paris?

Is it feasible to arrive at CDG at 1740 on Wednesday, travel into the city for dinner and walking, stay in a hotel as close as possible to GdN and catch the RER Thursday AM for a 1040 flight to the States? I really don't care about catching a full nights sleep vs. a low key eve in my favorite city! Any advisement on most efficient means to do this is welcome. I am not fussy, and not afraid of any adventure.

Just an idea, why not get hotel at airport, drop off luggage and go into the city and back to airport late at night?

Sure, but why drag all your stuff into the city when you can simply stay at the Ibis CDG3, take the RER into the city and go back to the Ibis to sleep before your flight the next morning.

Definitely agree with other 2 posts ~ drop your stuff and go have a delightful evening in the city, complete with eating warm Nutella/banana/strawberry crepes at the Eiffel Tower while it twinkles (for 10 minutes ~ on the hour)!! I cram as much as possible into every reasonable layover I have ~ amazing what I did in Sydney, Australia with only an 11 hour layover!! Have a blast! Cari

Another in the "drop your stuff" column, with another good reason for doing it that way: no freaking out in the morning about making your flight!
