Can anyone recommend a place in Dresden. We are 6 (2 kids under 14) and would like to spend the night instead of trying to do a day trip from Berlin. Thanks

"Apartmenthaus Altstadtperle" in downtown Dresden is a nice apartment "hostel" with different kind of apartments in various sizes. One apartment comes in American style in case that's what you prefer. Apartments start from around €50 per night.

Linda, we visited Dresden four years ago and stayed in the Rick-recommended Hotel Kipping. It was excellent, with a good central location. Our room for two was huge, probably the largest room we've ever had in Europe.
