One Night in Bilbao, Have Car - any B and B's or great places to sleep?

We will leave Carcassonne and travel to Bilbao for one night. Any problems with a French rental car touring the Basque Country?

I would love a referral of where to sleep while in Bilbao. Then we will travel to the Dordogne region.
