Although this is not a travel related post, in the for what it's worth category, I'd like to announce that yesterday my wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl, our first daughter!

And for good measure - yesterday my fourth grandchild and second grandson Mr Benjamin Ellis Correno was born at Derby City Hospital at 12:40pm by C section. Ben weighed in at 5lb 15oz.
Dad and Granddad are both doing fine ( except for hangovers ).

Wow, congratulations to both Adynata and Al! I hope all is well with both little ones. I'm well past babies and not yet ready for grandkids myself, so I hope it's not catching. :)

Adynata & Al ...CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm a great grandmother twice and babies are God's reward for not killing your kids ;-}
Asynata, we will be in Barcelona on 29 April 2009 for 5 days. Can you recommend a good but reasonably priced hotel in the center of town? Any suggestions as what not to miss? Thanks for the help and good luck sleeping at night for the rest of your life because the worries never stop they just change.

Thank you to everyone for the warm wishes. Al, congratulations. Mariann, I was lucky enough to have a close relationship with two of my great-grandmothers -- very special women who have marked my life profoundly.
Although it is far from being ritzy hotel, I like Hostel Subirats (5-10 min. walk from Pza. Catalunya). It is the only place I personally have ever stayed while visiting BCN. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, and money saved on the room can be spent on other things. The telephone is +34 933 191 881 and the address is Rda. Sant Pere, 62 Portal 1.
