We have a full day plus and a night after landing in Frankfurt to see and stay someplace before we get back on the plane again to head to Egypt. Do you have a recommendation for staying in or just outside of Frankfurt and what to see in that short of time? We would not be renting a car
A car would be a liability. Frankfurt is very walkable or you can use the public transportation which is cheap and easy to use. If you give us a hotel budget and tell us your interests, we can give better recommendations for your visit. Also the dates, to see if your stay here co-incides with a large trade fair.
I have dozens of posts on this forum about things to see and do in Frankfurt, ranging everywhere from medieval churches, to museums of all kinds (there are 46 to choose from here), Jewish cultural sites, gallery exhibitions, historic buildings, on through to concerts and shows.
Dianna, look up Jo's post on the subject; she has some excellent advice about "one night stands" in Frankfurt.
We enjoy them so much that we always try to book a layover there when we go back and forth to Germany.
We take the train from the sirport downtown to the Haupbanoff train staion, and book one of the lo-cost hotels in the area.
Thre is so much to see and do!
