My family (husband and 2 boys 14 & 11) and I will be spending one day in Paris - arriving via Gare du Nord from London and flying out CDG the next day back to the states. What hotel should we stay that is convenient to transportation and all the sites?

Do you know if you plan to take the RER, Roissy-Bus, or Air France Bus to the Airport? That could make a difference on where you'll want to stay.
In the section of Rick's book where he lists transportation options for getting to and from the airport he mentions neighborhoods that work for each possibility.
Ile St. Louis or the Marais would be my choice--that's what we did when we took the RER to the airport on our last trip(s) to Paris.
