looking for any suggestions for spending one day, April 12th, in Brugge.. local guided tours, etc..have RS book but would like more input..thanks
It will be a full day as there is lots to see by walking. follow RS you don't need a tour it is compact. it is a great walking town if you tire hop on a medieval village.if you tire catch a boat to cruise canals. enjoy it is truely lovely.stay an xtra day if you can.
Agree with JS, Nancy, try to stay overnite. First time there, was living/working in Holland, decided to do a weekend to Antwerp/Bruges. Took the train down, made the mistake of sleeping in Antwerp, saw the sights there (some neat stuff). Did Bruges via early AM train next day, immediately recognized my mistake not to sleep in Bruges. Only town in NL/Belg where I was tempted and did take a canal cruise; beautiful but too short. Pleasant walk to town square, etc.,from train; easy, small town to do sights on foot, no tour required. Get tired; grab a cafe table outside, have a toasty or a waffle (and maybe a libation) and people watch for an hour or so.
