On the Eurail, A home base to visit Paris and Nomandy Beach

We are looking for a home base that is close to a Eurail train station, so we can do day trips into Paris, Normandy Beach..Any other places you can recomend from this location? We have 3-4 nights there...

Thank you

Sorry, I should have made it clearer...We have a Eurail pass because we are traveling all over Europe..I was hoping to find a place between Paris and Normany Beach that was along the train route for easy access...That way we could do day trips into Paris and one to Normandy..I was hoping for a town that has some points of interest in between these two places....Any suggestions?

Thank you,

While I personally agree with Steve's take on what would work for me, Lauren wants to know about towns on the rail line between Paris and Normandy beaches.

This trip takes 2 - 2-1/2 hours by train, so a station that is 1 hour from Paris is 1-1/2 hours from Bayeux, which itself is a reasonably short drive to the beaches.

Evreux is an hour from Paris.

Bernay is an hour and a half.

Lisieux is an hour and three quarters.

Caen is about two hours.

An alternative might be to stay in Rouen, about an hour from Paris, and drive to the coast. I wouldn't drive to Paris, though.
