On line tickets for the Alhambra

I went on line for tickets to the Alhambra with the website sugested in Rick Steeves book. www.alhambra-tickets.es and filled in the steps. After filling in name and credit card info I hit "continue" but nothing else happened after that. Is that all you do or does it move to another screen to give you a reservation number? Thanks for any information!

alhambra-ticket.es will link you to ServiCaixa when you go to buy tickets. That's OK, it is the "official" vendor for online Alhambra tickets. Sometimes the pages are slow in loading. When you say "nothing happened" when you hit "continue", what do you mean? No change in th escreen? Maybe it was still loading? Did you exit the website at that point? My "guess" is that the purchase did not go through and you should try again. But wait a day or so and check your credit card statement to be sure. I had no trouble purchasing multiple alhambra tickets on that website last spring, but I have read on Tripadvisor that sometimes it does not function properly.

Thanks Lola. I am guessing you are right, probably just a hic up in the website because I got no error message it just didn't go to the next step even though I waited a few minutes. So I will give my bank statement one more day to see if it went through and then try again.

This is the ServiCaixa website? It should have given you a confirmation number or something you could print out. Did the website lock up? Or give an error message? You might check to see if your credit card was charged. (By the way, did you call your bank and advise them you would be making a purchase form Spain? If not, they may have rejected the charge.) If your card was charged, you should be able to retrieve your tickets from the ServiCaixa machines at the alhambra entrance gate. for that, all you need is the same card you used for the purchase. Insert the card, and out pop your tickets.

No, this was the Alhambra website and it didn't freeze up or anything it just did nothing when I clicked on continue. I have checked my visa but nothing is through yet. I just don't know if I do it again if I'll end up with double tickets!

It is well worth getting the tickets in advance, so keep trying!
The day we went, the line for tickets that day was very long and only a few were left, so most people were disappointed. We actually did three separate visits when we were there-a night visit to the palaces our first day, then a "Visita Entorno" walking tour of the water engineering on the 2d day, and a regular daytime visit to palaces, gardens, and fortress on the 3d day. You can read about the walking tours here: http://www.alhambra-patronato.es/index.php?id=191 They do differen ones on differend days of the week. I think there is also informationon the alhambra-tickets.es site.
