There is a Costume and Riflemens parade at the beginning of the Oktoberfest. What is the best way to see the parade? Tickets are offered at 35 euro. Does one get a reserved seat in a bleacher? Is there a optimum location along the parade route?

I went last year on opening day. It was my 4th time at Oktoberfest. Never again on opening day. The parade starts early. You have to decide if you want to get a seat in a tent or watch the parade. I wanted to see the parade and it was spectacular. It then took us 5 hours to get our first beer in a tent. We had to drink along the weisen at the fransinkaner tables which wasn't that bad but the crowds were overwhelming for my wife. Check with the hotel for the parade route. Prost!
