My boyfriend and I are planning a two month long backpacking trip and of course we want to stop by the world famous Oktoberfest! The festival runs from Sept 19-Oct 4th, and we were wondering when is the best time to stop by? Is the celebration more lively in the begging or does it take a week for it to really get crazy? Also, what is a close city that would be a nice cheap place to stay for a few nights?
