We happened to be in Munich for opening day of Oktoberfest several years ago. We really enjoyed seeing the decorated wagons for the different beer brands and enjoyed seeing the Germans in their lederhosen and dirndls. We are trying to arrange for another visit to Oktoberfest and we are wondering if this was typical for opening day only or are the wagons/costumes typical for every day of Oktoberfest.

People will be wearing traditional clothing for the entire time, no need to worry. But if you're planning on going to Oktoberfest this year, be sure and book your hotel room immediately.

I've seen the wagons on other days. But the traditional parade is on the first day. Otherwise, Germans always wear their lederhosem/dirndls to the tents all days of the fest. I'll be wearing my lederhosen there this year again and my wife has a new dirndl as well. Prost!
