Just recently I purchased a 1 liter beer glass from a flea market. It is a beautiful dimple glass with a shield cut in the glass....it has the the word Lutz on it and below it has the writing "Brauerei Lutz KG Kreuzwertheim"...I did some research on it and they rename the brewery in 1975 and Lutz beer is no longer made.....I was just wonder if any travelers here has ever drank this beer before? and what did you think about it......thanks

I'm too young to have sampled that beer in its lifetime. Looks like the brewery is now known as the "Spessart Brauerei". I've never tried this beer either and have never seen it sold. Must be a regional beer.

100 years ago there were over 10,000 breweries in Germany. But that has changed a lot. These days you find fewer than 2000 in the country, about 1/3 of them in Bavaria. So I am not surprised that the Lutz beer was among the many thousand brands that vanished ....
