Northern Spain with Kids: Suggestions?

Taking a two week trip with three kids (ages 4, 7, and 9)next summer. Starting in Madrid and doing northern Spain and northern Portugal by car. We are native Spanish speakers. Any suggestions about unusual fun stuff to do with kids? Are there any Basque amusement parks? :)
