Normandy Tours from Paris

Looking for a tour that will take us from Paris to Normandy in back in 1 day to see all the D-Day sights - any suggestions of great trips you've been on? Thanks!

Kerry.... It's going to be difficult (if not impossible) to get from Paris to the Normandy beaches and back, and see "all the D-Day sights" all in one day. The last two times we were in Paris, we took an afternoon train to Bayeux, stayed overnight there, and took the BattleBus tour the following day. The BattleBus tour lasts all day, from 0830 to 1730. As an American, you would probably be most interested in their "American Highlights" tour. It will take you to Ste. Mere Eglise, Pointe Du Hoc, Utah Beach, the hedgerow country, Omaha Beach, and finishes up at the American Cemetery in time for the lowering of the flag. The tour guides are extremely knowledgable, and give excellent oral presentations at each stop, accompanied by portfolios of photos. The tours are always of 8 persons or fewer, so you're not one of 60 passengers on some huge bus where you can't see or hear any of the presentations. You can probably get a train back to Paris after the end of the tour, but you might want to stay the second night in Bayeux, have a nice meal, and take the train back to Paris the next morning.
Feel free to contact me if I can be of further help.

It's tough to do in one day from Paris. Possible, but not the best choice. Some things are worth an overnight stay (in Bayeux), this is one of them.

The first time I visited Normandy in 1999 I took a bus tour from Paris and the bus ride was a long one. Was able to see several of the famous US beach sites and the cemetary. The tour included a quick lunch at a farmhouse. The tour was expensive and I would not recommend going by bus in one day.
This past may I went on a tour that included Normandy and this was better to spend the entire day in this region.
