I know, don't do one day tours, but we're only in Paris for six days. I figure that a one day tour is better than no tour at all. That being said, does anyone have a recommended tour to take, or to avoid? I'm sure I'll be saddling you with more concerns, like purchasing St. Chapelle concert tickets before we leave for Paris. Thank you. Bob Loiselle
hi, I took a one day personal tour and it covered alot, but i left knowing there was much more to cover (not just ww2 stuff too) so i consider and plan my trips such that I WILL BE BACK. If you can do a true ALL DAY tour 0800-1800 or so, you will be satisified (note that i didnt say happy), but there is alot of other things in that area too. Namely Mont St Michel. Look at it as ONE of many trips. as i mentioned i took a personal guide. It was expensive since i was flipping the cost by myself but it was that or nothing. If you have multiple people it isnt that bad cost wise. happy trails.
Bob, Could you clarify whether you're looking at a guided day tour of Normandy from Paris OR travelling to Bayeux and taking one of the excellent local tours? The answer will depend on which option you're considering.
Re: St. Chapelle tickets -- We used www.classictic.com and bought the Vivaldi tickets prior to leaving the US. We got the front rows reserved section for a bit more money and it was well worth it. We attended the 1900 concert if I remember correctly, so we could get the full benefit of the sun streaming through those glorious windows. General admission is probably available for every performance at various ticket outlets or at the door, but we prefer to have tickets in hand.
