I want to visit Normandy's D-Day beaches and American cemetaries. I was wondering if anyone would be able to recommend a youth hostel, or a convenient location as a home base. Thanks!

Bayeux would be a good base because many of the D-Day tours depart from there. According to hostelz.com, there is one hostel in Bayeux. See here: www.hostelz.com/hostel/9827-Family-Home-Hostel.
