Normandy Day Tour from Paris

Can anyone please let us know of a good tour group from Paris to Normandy for the day with English speaking guide. We would consider a bus tour or a private tour. (thinking about 100 euros per person but that is flexible)
Thank you

When you get to Paris phone a travel agent and ask your questions. He will know all about any tours offered to Normandy.

Thank you for your response.

We have been to Paris before and will be there only a few days... I would like to have this set up before we leave.

Anyone who has done this before please let me know.

Thank you again.

I checked parisvision.com; they have 2 tours but they run €198 and €159.

What do you mean by a Normandy tour? Do you just mean the D-Day beaches? Normandy is an ENORMOUS area, not a town! Full of beautiful countryside, chateaux, gardens, medieval villages and towns, superb cathedrals, etc. It would take a week to do a decent tour of Normandy, including one day at the Normandy Landing sites.

For a DIY tour of the beaches in a hire car see here:

Normandy Beach tour by car

Otherwise book a one day tour from the Caen Memorial museum.

Phil: It seems an awful lot of people are unaware of what else there is in Normandy other than the Landing Beaches, which is a great pity. Normandy is one of our favourite parts of France. One year we had the loan of a house about 15 kms from Flers in Basse Normandie. We were able to explore many small towns, such as Domfront and la Ferté-Macé, as well as drive to Mont Saint-Michel and Juno Beach (where Canadians landed) and visit Cdn Military Cemetaries. And I LOVE the brown cows !

There are two good tour companies that do day tours from Paris to Normandie.

www.conciergerie.com has a day tour with a bus that picks you up at your hotel in Paris.

www.linkparis.com has a tour where you take the train to Caen, and a guide picks you up in a mini-van and gives you the tour. Taking the train is much quicker because of autoroute traffic, and for me much more fun. This tour is sponsored by the Memorial of Caen, and is a superb tour. I highly recommend it.

Thank you all for your comments.

Bill (and Darcy) thank you for the names of the guides. I will check into them.

Since we are arriving into France (Paris) for only a few days before our time in Europe and our focus this time is in Italy and Greece, we will not have the time to tour all of Normandy. Our sons wanted to see the landing beaches and we wanted to see if it was possible.

This is a great starting point to some research.
Thank you.
