We have 2 full days for Giverny/Normandy Beaches and must catch a train on day 3 from Bayeux to Paris/London. We would love tips on making our very short time in Normandy as full as possible. This portion of our brief trip is in honor of Dad, a WWII vet.
Kirby, If staying in Bayeux, the easiest and most efficient method to see the beaches and other historic D-Day sites would be to take one of the excellent day tours that depart from there. Two that I can highly recommend are www.ddayhistorian.com or www.daleboothnormandytours.com. The tours aren't cheap but I believe are good value, especially as they cover the entire day and the Guides are outstanding! They have an incredible wealth of information, which is some cases has come from Veterans that have travelled with them. Pre-booking the tour would be a REALLY good idea, as they're often fully booked. I don't have any comments on Giverny, but I'm sure others in the group will have lots of details to add on that. Happy travels!
Thank you for the tour guide information!
