I am taking my son to France in December/January. We will be staying in Paris through Christmas, and on the morning of the 26th we plan to take the train to Rouen, rent a car, and spend two days and two nights in Normandy. I just can't seem to decide where is the best place for us to stay. Our plan and correct me if I am making a mistake is to drive from Rouen to Mont St. Michel, have a late lunch, see the abbey, leave at 6:00 or so and drive to where we will spend the next two nights. The next day we want to visit Omaha Beach (where my father fought in WWII), the museums, and the American Cemetery. The next morning we will rise early and drive back to Rouen, return the car, and train back to Paris in time to do something in the afternoon and attend a synagogue service that evening. Any suggestions of someplace that would be a pleasant drive to both Mont St. Michel and the D-Day sites?
