Norm, Kent, Perry, Anyone! Pls Help Me with the New bahn.de Website

I've used this website for our last 3 trips to Europe and it was simple and I never had a problem...but they've changed the website and I'm having a hard time with it. I have lots of routes to figure out but the first one is from Pisa or CQ area to Chamonix, France. Two yrs ago we went from Rome to Chamonix and it was easy, but everytime I put in a city for departure (like Pisa, Genoa, Milan) it comes back saying there is no such thing. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)

Susan...just tried Pisa-Chamonix for Tuesday 11 March and got the routes and timetables OK, so I'm not sure what's going wrong for you. You're at http://bahn.de then clicking on "english" on the right side? In any event, I'd try Trenitalia too, and possible SNCF...Trenitalia might offer some good fare deals.

Norm, thank you, I appreciate you responding so fast. I just tried it again myself (our date is July 17) and got the same response as before, a page comes up saying "Sorry, but there are no routes that fit your description" or something to that effect. I've been successful with some of my routes but not all..for instance I tried Caen to Paris, then Rouen to Paris and got the same response that there are no such routes. I know that's not true.

Try the local spelling of those cities (Genova, Milano, etc.)...

It may be because you're trying for schedules so far in advance. Possibly the schedules for July haven't been set as of yet. I noticed your Pisa-Chamonix route comes up at bahn until Saturday, 14 June...after that, nothing. I would assume the summer schedules haven't been finalized yet, so they're not in the system yet.

Thank you Norm and Tim, I tried it now and got it. The reason I didn't try that myself is because 1) other routes I put in for August came up and 2) I've done it this far in advance many times before and had no problem. I feel embarrassed and stupid that I didn't at least try what you suggested myself! Thanks a million :)

Norm has it right. New European timetables will take effect in early June. The times are unlikely to change by more than a few minutes, if at all, from what they are now.

I have had the same problem.... They won't give you the schedules for more than 60 days out. I just put in a false day, within the 60 day window, the same day of the week that I will be traveling, to get an idea of the schedule and price etc.

Thanks Debbie, that's what I'm doing now too. And I'm making sure, as you said, that it's the same day of the week as the day we'll be going. I appreciate everyone's help!
