nonsmoking rooms Netherlands and Belgium

i have only been in Amstedam and Brussels and Bastogne. i didnt see anyone smoking in any building i went into for my trips. In amsterdam i wandered into a "coffee" shop and they were smoking in there, but i could tell the moment the door was opened too.

My hotel in Bastogne was a former smoking hotel since the room still had some residue smoke smell to it. Other than that, that was the only issue i had.

You will notice alot more smokers over there. In Bastogne, many of the gradeschool girls were smoking.

if any of you have pet allergies, some of the hotels allowed pets in the rooms, so that maybe something to avoid.

Restaurants in both countries are generally non-smoking. They're trying to make smoking in pubs illegal, but not having much success yet.

I checked with all 3 places we are staying, and the only room where smoking is allowed in all 3 establishments is the one we are staying in( it has a balcony)!
