Almost all hotels are non smoking in Paris now,, yes, really. I think it would be much harder to find a hotel you could smoke in .A few large chain type hotels may offer smoking rooms, but none of the dozen hotels that I have stayed at or looked at offer any smoking rooms at all. Paris is almost totally smoke free in most indoor places,, only place that I know you can still smoke is parks and sidewalks and only OUTDOOR seating at cafes/restaurants. Your information may be outdated.

The story used to be that if you wanted a table in the non-smoking section of a restaurant, the waiter would take away the ashtray on your table. But I agree with the others, indoor smoking in public accommodations is rapidly dying out in France and elsewhere.
