Hello,
I have nine full days in Spain and am not sure about an itinery. Here is what I am planning 1. Three days in Barcelona ; 2. Four days in Madrid 3. Two days in Toledo. This works, but I would really like to fit in Granada and the Alhambra. Any way to do this comfortably?
Not really. It is down in the corner. Little hard to get to. Have to give up something. We did a ten day trip of into Madrid (3), Cordoba (1), Sevilla (3) and Granada (3) and home from Malaga
You need a minimum of two nights in Granada. The first night is after you arrive and settle in and you need a full day to see the Alhambra and some of the city. You could arrive late the first night and leave early the final morning. With that, you could take a day from Madrid and Toledo each. I personally think 4 full days in Madrid is more than you need and you can do Toledo in one full day (staying overnight would help see more and is a wonderful experience). But getting to/from Granada will also take time from your schedule as its not well connected to the rest of Spain.
it's very hard to do. maybe you should save barcelona for another trip with southern france. just do madrid and toledo, then sevilla and granada. even you take 2 days out of madrid and toledo you still rush it, and when you're in andalusia but not seeing sevilla it's a pitty.
You're trying to checkerboard Andalusia, but missing half of the squares. Get everything in one area on the same trip. Skip Barcelona. Work in Seville and Cordova. Include Granada. Once you work out what you really want to see in Madrid and Toledo, see if you can rob a day so you can swing through Avila and Segovia - - this might be to hard if you don't exactly know how to do it, but it's worth a thought.
