I have been looking for cheap airline flights, but they seem more expensive than Rail Europe. For two we can go overnight 1st. class for 340.00. I have not found a flight for that price. Has anyone done this ? It is Rail Europe nighttrain. Also do I make it now or after I am in Amsterdam in June? Also, tickets or no refund, no exchange, no food, but we leave at 8 oclock at night! Can eat in Amsterdam before we leave. Can anyone tell me about this?
Rail Europe is a booking agency and they mark up the price of the tickets they sell. Booking on a country's national rail site will nearly always be cheaper.
The Europa-Spezial Niederlande fare at bahn.de for two people in an economy two-bed sleeper is €238 (€119/person). If you're willing to share space with two strangers, you can get bunks in a four-person couchette for €89/person. Book ASAP (up to 92 days allowed) because popular night trains often sell out quickly.
