Nice place to stay in Honfleur for a night.

We decided to skip a night in Paris and go to Normandy for 2 days and spending a night in Honfleur. Where would be a nice place to stay in June for 3 adults? Thanks!!

The best place to stay to see Normandy for two days, IMHO, per your other post, is Bayeux. The Churchill Hotel is central and tours of the beaches leave from right behind the hotel. It's easy to find, easy to park right behind the hotel, and may serve your purposes better than Honfleur. We prefer to take the train to Caen and get our reserved rental car right across the street from the Caen train station. Bayeux is only about 15 miles from Caen. Better rental agency hours, open later on weekends, and three rental agencies are found in Caen as opposed to Bayeux. Renting in Caen also avoids Paris traffic which can be daunting. Return the car to Caen and take the train back to Paris.
We use our Garmin GPS with Europe maps to help us find places we want to see. You can preprogram addresses into the GPS (it's best to have your own and learn to use it before the trip) and it will take you right to your hotel, any restaurants you might choose, or museums along the beaches.

We stayed at the Hotel Monet and enjoyed it. We chose this place because it had parking as we were driving to Honfleur. It's basic, but nice. The hotel keepers are very kind. It's a walk (sort of uphill) from the "downtown" area, but we found it a rather nice way to end the day. It really wasn't that bad, but others do complain about it. The price was pretty good too. Overall, a lovely place.

We also stayed at the Hotel Monet, and enjoyed it. It was convenient to Honfluer, and was a great option with a rental car. Read the reviews and pics on Trip Advisor. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187189-d952486-Reviews-Hotel_Monet-Honfleur_Calvados_Basse_Normandie_Normandy.html But we walked by the B&B La Cour St Catherine, which was full. We wish that it had been available; it really looked awesome! Honfluer is absolutely not central to Normandy, but we loved eating our meals on the waterfront, and thought that the town was quaint and wonderful.

We spent two nights in Honfleur in Sept and stayed at La Liniere which is right next to Hotel Monet. It is a beautiful house, large rooms and elegant throughout the house. Parking is free and a standard French breakfast. The house used to be part of the Monet family estate.
