Does anyone have advice on hotels or other accomodations for a family of four in Nice, Cinque Terra, and Innsbruck? Our boys will be 13 and 10 and we are traveling in August.
My strong advice is not to be too picky and book something QUICKLY! August is as high season as it gets on the Riveria, prices will be high, availabilty low. And you want either two rooms or a quad,, so you have extra work there,, there are less quads available in most hotels, some only have 2 or 3, and getting two rooms is just twice as hard as one at this date. If you have a great big budget then you will have an easier time then others,, but if you are trying to keep it moderate you are going to have to hustle. Ps will you have a car?
Stephen, I definitely agree with the previous reply. As you'll be travelling in August, you need to get Hotel reservations booked ASAP!!! You might try Hotel Suisse in Nice (I suspect they'll be booked, but it's worth a try). Which town in the Cinque Terre would you prefer to stay in? I don't have any suggestions for Innsbruck, but hopefully one of the others will. Good luck and happy travels!
Stephen - try the Hotel le Royal in Nice. Very central.
Thanks, everyone, for the tips! Yes, we will have a car. We don't have any idea of where to stay in Cinque Terra as neither of us have been. Any tips would be very much appreciated! Thanks again!
I probably should learn how to spell Cinque Terre if we're going to travel there ...
We had a great stay at Hotel Massena. Easy walk to old town and the beach. Tram from the train station was easy too. Beautiful city!
Oops...I just saw that you're driving. Don't know about parking in old town Nice, but still recommend the Hotel Massena in every other way. We stayed in Santa Margarita Ligure and took the short train ride into the Cinque Terra...it was great coming back each evening to the SML vibe....family, local restaurants, boat ride to Portofino. Just a beautiful small town with great access in both directions. Might be easier than driving between those 5 villages!
