We are arriving from Paris to Bordeaux rather late in the day in the first part of July. We will be picking up a car at the train station the next morning. We are looking for boutique hotel or B&B rather close to the train station for one night's stay. Welcome suggestions.

The area around Bordeaux railway station is a bit sleazy: I don't know that the hotels around there are recommendable. There's a good-quality tram system with traffic priority so it would be worth looking elsewhere in the centre.

Janet - I stayed in the Hotel Tour L'Intendance in Bordeaux and really liked it. It's not near the train station but we were able to walk there.
