Any recommendations on a nice hotel in Nice, France? A good location would be a plus since we will not have a car. I don't mind paying money for a nice hotel within reason ($250 or less per night). We will be staying 4 nights in early November.

Since you have a descent budget I'll recommend the following: Hotel Negresco. Loved it. The bar was fun late night and the rooms have a very 1930's France appeal. It's close to all of Nice and the train station. It's also not far from the airport either. I splurged for the sea view. I wouldn't do it again as if you are going to enjoy the sea, just walk down the street in front of the hotel.

Another option is Hotel le Royal which has great views of the Med but is less expensive than the Negresco.

Richard, I'd highly recommend www.hotel-nice-suisse.com/uk/ for your stay in Nice. It's in a great location at the end of the Promenade des Anglais, and within easy walking distance to the old town. If you're arriving at Nice Ville, I'd suggest taking a Taxi to the Hotel. Happy travels!

We stayed at The Villa Victoria in Nice for three nights earlier this month and loved it. Our room had a long balcony with french doors opening to their lovely courtyard. A bountiful breakfast was inclued as well. The beach is five minutes up the street.
