Does anyone know if the Matisse Museum in Nice is in fact closing this year, and if so when? I'll be in Nice in October and hope to visit it.

Neither the English version nor the French version of the official museum site says anything about closing. However, it wouldn't hurt to send an e-mail and ask. The address is [email protected]. Both the Matisse Museum and the Chagall Museum are wonderful!

Thanks for your reply. I did check out the website of the Matisse museum and did send an email to the museum several days ago but got no reply. I'm hoping it's only because they run on "Mediterranean time".

Ralph, The Picasso museum is also wonderful. It's housed in the old Grimaldi castle. In addition to paintings on canvas, it features Picasso's paintings on ceramic pieces created by a friend.
