i leave for nice on nov. 2 for a 3 week stay and im worried about the strikes and transportation should i go or stay home is it safe
You should be perfectly safe. Obviously stay away from angry crowds and avoid saying anything political in a very loud voice in public...but you would do those in any case, I'm sure. Now transportation could be more of a problem, but so far the strikes have been on one day, off another. And since you'll be in Nice rather than traveling around France, transportation shouldn't be more than an inconvenience for you at worst. Yes, you might have to be flexible in exactly when you visit Monoco or Antibes or Eze...but if you can't go on one day you probably can go the next, and since you'll be there for 3 weeks (!!!) you should have no problem doing what you want to do. If the airline can't fly you home for some reason, they will ---check to make sure--fly you the next day.
Go. There will be days of action on and off until the elections next year, but the large movement has subsided for the moment.
