Has anyone heard about a new law that requires travelers going to Great Britian or Germany to call and submit their itinerary to the British/German embassy two weeks prior to their departure and have a copy of said submitted itinerary, received from the embassy with them upon departure? Apparently this "law" was recently passed several days ago? Thanks. Martin
I've not heard anything about this -- where did you hear it? Why would it only be Great Britain and Germany? Doesn't make sense to me.
That would be a major problem considering we're leaving less than two weeks from today. How could they do that without notifying people that already have plane tickets to arrive? Doesn't make sense to me. Unless it's going to be a stay for a long period of time. (Like longer than one month.)
Actually, I think the new law you are referring to was passed by us earlier this month. The US president signed a law requiring western European travelers to register online and fill out a questionaire before they leave for their trip. I don't know when this will take affect.
The EU is now considering passing a similar law, but nothing has been finalized or voted on. It is going to be proposed in a report to the EU justice ministers in mid September.

I am not positive that this is what you are referring to, but it is the only thing I have heard of.
