Starting June 10th, DB and SNCF introduce a new high-speed service between Paris and Frankfurt (operated by DB ICE 3rd generation equpiment) and Paris and Stuttgart (operated by SNCF TGV equipment), which will eventually be extended to Munich starting December 2007. Journey time from Frankfurt (downtown, main station) to Paris (Gare de l'Est) will be 4 hours, from Stuttgart (main station) to Paris will take only 3hrs and 40mins.Information (in German) can be found here: http://www.bahn.de/p/view/preise/international/deutschland_paris.shtml#2 (you might want to open that site thru babelfish)Even though this is a much faster connection than flying DB and SNCF want to give those low cost airlines an even harder time by offering tickets from as low as €29 one-way.
