Neuschwanstein visit- hotel ideas?

Two nights in the area, got all Rick's suggestions but I'll take your real-life experiences as well. Two teens and two adults with car- food and wine along with a healthy dose of ambience is needed for the Bavarian visit. Thanks friends...

264 posts We stayed years ago at the Hotel Ruebezahl at the foot of Neuschwanstein Castle. It's not cheap, but it was also not too expensive. It's all about timing. They had a five star restaurant we weren't even aware off. But from that hotel you could see the castle day or night. It also has spa services. It was clean and the front desk were very helpful. English speaking, we tried our German and they their best English. But we had a great time. Check out the Tripadvisor link and read the reviews.
