Netherlands Novels?

We are headed for Holland in April. Love to read Novels from the country we will be visiting. Any suggestions? Non-Fiction also acceptable but I find fiction sets the scene and tone best...

Another WWII non-fiction that may be of interest is "Quiet Heroes" by Andre Stein. Not a novel but 7 true stories of the rescue of Jews by Dutch citizens in Nazi-occupied Holland. Most of the stories are situated in the northern part of the country and the citizens went to great danger and were very creative in their methods to keep those Jews safe. Not all were successful to the end unfortunately. This may not be the kind of book you would be interested in but a suggestion. Thanks Thomas for your suggestion. I had not heard of that book but will try to get a copy.

Had nothing to do with Novels but if you are into WWII History. A visit to the Dutch resistance Museum in Amsterdam is a must. It is very well done for the size, it should be more of a major attraction in my opinion.

I ordered Orange Blood, Silver Wings but would not recommend it unless you want a VERY detailed military assessment of the Market Garden operation.
